The bank recommends higher attention with card usage during the holidays
„You should take care of your card the way you take care of your wallet”, said Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian, Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Bulbank.
From the beginning of this week UniCredit Bulbank made one more step towards cardholders comfort. In collaboration with AIG Bulgaria the bank launches a unique “Protected Portfolio” Insurance. It covers card loss or theft, as well as protects purchased goods and other personal belongings.
The “Protected Portfolio” Insurance covers 4 main damages:
• Bank cards – pays losses if the card has been used illegally by a third party as a result of robbery or lost. The customer is reimbursed all the amounts up to the specified limit of 300 leva for damages (certified in a police report) that have occurred up to 48 hours before the moment of card blocking.
• Protected purchases – financial losses are covered up to the total amount of 1500 leva for the period of one year occurred following a housebreaking theft/burglary or injury of newly purchased through the bank card consumer goods. The cover is effective in the course of up to 30 days since the date of the purchase and for goods priced above 100 leva.
• Lost or stolen personal documents and keys – in case of loss or theft of the personal documents and/or keys together with the insured banc card all the costs are reimbursed incurred by the customer for the re-issuance of the personal documents (up to 250 leva) and/or change of keys or locks (up to 500 leva).
• Accident – compensation in the amount of 4 000 leva per insured card in the event of death resulting from accident.
The “protected portfolio” insurance can be concluded in minutes at the branches of UniCredit Bulbank by any of the bank’s current or new cardholders. The cover is renewed automatically every year (except upon rejection by the customer). The insurance premium in the amount of 23.50 leva per annum is collected automatically under the insured bank card subject to the consent of the insured cardholder.
Exclusively, UniCredit Bulbank and AIG Bulgaria as of September 2007 successfully offer to all cardholder only over the telephone the “Care” Insurance, which covers the stay in hospital upon accident or illness, as well as full loss of ability to work, with validity all over the world.
UniCredit Bulbank’s debit and credit cards allow the customers to dispose of their funds any time 24 hours a day at any point of the world. They are a convenient way of effecting payments in commercial sites, as well as servicing utility and regular payments. We would like to remind you of a few easy measures, which do not require any efforts but increase substantially the protection level of the bank card:
• While entering your PIN code your right hand always must conceal the keyboard.
• It is recommended to use ATMs in bank offices, hotels or administrative buildings.
• It is good to use the SMS Information service upon the performance of each and every transaction.
• Bank cards should never be left out of surveillance on visible and easily accessible places (a hotel room, a changing-room, etc).
• The PIN code should never be written down on the bank card and should not be kept in easily vulnerable places – in a wallet, mobile, etc.
• In case of problems occurring at the ATM the customer should never share the PIN code with “helpful” citizens and call telephone numbers announced by stickers on the ATM.
• Every customer has to write down the telephone numbers for urgent connection with his bank’s center on duty in case of any problem with the bank card or any doubts of an illegal transaction. • While traveling it is recommended to take only the bank cards which are intended to be used (this meaning for example to leave back in a safe place thе bank cards with local access)
