In connection with the introduction of the Euro in Republic of Bulgaria and in line with the regulatory requirements, we would like to inform you that from January 01, 2026 UniCredit Bulbank will apply the following changes in the applications Bulbank Online and Bulbank Mobile for Business and for Personal Individuals customers.

Automatic conversion of accounts:

  • All amounts in BGN of current, deposit, saving and other accounts, will be automatically converted in EUR on 01.01.2026.
  • The EUR conversion will be done applying the official BGN-EUR exchange rate of 1,95583/1.

Limits’ conversion:

  • The contracted accounts’ limits (i.e. daily transfer limit) will be calculated as the BGN amounts will be divided by 2 and they will be rounded to the second decimal in EUR.

Changes in file formats and payments:

  • SEPA and Multirow SEPA formats (analog to Multirow in BGN) keep their structure and they will be used for interbank and intrabank payments in EUR on the territory of Bulgaria, EU and  EEA.
  • Formats for payments to/from the budget keep their structure as:
    • BGN currency is replaced by EUR
    • RINGS option is cancelled from the field Payment type – payments will be executed as Simple (Bisera) payments
  • SEBRA formats (Budget payment request) keep their structure as the currency will be changed from BGN to EUR
  • Currency payment formats remain unchanged
  • Package payments of salaries and salary payments with contract:
    • The currency will be changed from BGN to EUR
    • IBAN numbers of the receivers should be in Bulgarian banks (they start with BG, 22 symbols)

Payments history and drafts:

  • In payments history, the original currency of the transaction will be kept for payments executed before 01.01.2026.
  • Payments, created before this date, but not sent, can’t be signed or sent after 01.01.2026 – they should be created again
  • All created Drafts will be kept, but when opened the amount and the currency will be cleaned up
  • In Templates and in Counterparties, the BGN amounts will be automatically converted in EUR applying the official BGN-EUR exchange rate of 1,95583/1.
