All UniCredit Bulbank’s customers whose credit cards are issued after 1 February 2010 can protect themselves and their families in repaying the installments with the new Credit Stability Insurance. The novel product is offered by the largest bank in the country jointly with Cardiff Bulgaria.
Credit Stability is the analogue for credit cards of Credit Protection. Credit Protection, offered as early as in 2007 also by UniCredit Bulbank and Cardiff, was the first insurance on the market to protect borrowers of the Bank from the risk of unemployment.
Credit Protection protects from financial difficulties with the servicing of the credit card due to the most common risks such as continuous illness leaves and unemployment and more serious conditions. In those cases the insurance covers up to 6 minimum repayment installments under the credit card. In more serious events like death caused by accident or disease and durable or permanent incapacity to work above 70% as a result of accident or disease, the insurance covers up to BGN 50 thousand for payment under the credit card.
“We believe that with the new insurance, which all our customers can conclude upon issue or renewal of his/her credit card, we will continue UCB’s tradition to offer its customers the most innovative and suitable solutions that protect them and their families from difficulties even in times of crisis”, said Slavka Valkova, Head of Cards in UniCredit Bulbank.
Upon conclusion of Credit Stability Insurance for the new cardholders UniCredit Bulbank offers a reduction with 1.2% of the annual interest rate.
The fee for Credit Stability insurance totals 0.5% from the used credit limit and is payable monthly. Thus for example, if a customer is a holder of a credit card with a limit of BGN 1,000 and has spent BGN 500, the following month his/her insurance will cost 0.5% of BGN 500 = BGN 2.50.
Detailed information about the new product is available in the branches of UniCredit Bulbank throughout the country.
