UniCredit captures leading positions in Credit Research poll

UniCredit’s Credit Research and Global Economics, Fixed Income & FX Research once again gained industry recognition in Euromoney’s annual poll, ranking as number one on Emerging Market Sovereigns, ranking as number two on Automotives, Supranational & Agencies and Western European Sovereigns, and ranking as number three in General Industries.

The results were published as part of the Euromoney Credit Research Poll 2009, which is widely regarded as the benchmark for credit research. UniCredit beat competition from top-level investment banks from across Europe and the US.

Commenting on the results of the poll, Sergio Ermotti,Deputy CEO and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking of UniCredit, said: “This is a notable achievement for the Group which recognizes our continued focus on investing and raising the profile of our research operations. Despite difficult market conditions the bank has proved successful in achieving its aim of focusing on core competencies and providing a high quality service to its customers. The poll results confirm an already exceptional track record which makes UniCredit’s research team a leader in EEMEA and one of the most important players in global research".

Part of the awarded team is also the Bulgarian unit for economic analysis and research, headed by the chief economist of UniCredit Bulbank Kristofor Pavlov.
