Kraft Foods, Coca Cola, Vodafone Group, Novartis AG and McDonald’s will give clients the opportunity to obtain bigger yields compared to standard deposits

UniCredit Bulbank offers its clients a new opportunity for safekeeping and increasing of their savings, namely the Blue Chips Structured Deposit. This product invests in the so called blue chips, i.e. shares of leading companies in their sectors, having a proven track record of sustainable profits, high credit ratings, big market capitalizations, etc.

The main feature of the Blue Chips Structured Deposit is the opportunity to gain extra yield as against the standard deposits, calculated as the average yield of each of the shares for the deposit period. The blue chips have equal weights of 20%. These are Kraft Foods, Coca Cola, Vodafone Group, Novartis AG and McDonald’s. They are all anti-cyclical companies, i.e. companies whose revenues are not directly related to the economic cycle.

The period in which such deposits can be opened started on 20 February 2012 and will continue until 8 March 2012 and for this period the guaranteed interest is 1.5% p.a. Besides, the clients may open additional deposits, as well as deposit additional amounts and withdraw amounts from the deposit without any penalty fee.

The time deposit period is 9 March 2012 – 9 March 2014. The guaranteed interest in this period is 0.03% p.a. After 9 March, however, clients can no longer open a Blue Chips Structured Deposit and cannot deposit additional amounts. In case of withdrawal before maturity there will be a fee of up to 5% of the deposited amount.

The yield of the Blue Chips Structured Deposit will be calculated on maturity. The principal, the fixed guaranteed interest and the additional yield will be paid then as well.
