The municipality will use the funds for financing projects under the Operational Programmes of the EU and under other European programmes for the benefit of the local community.

UniCredit Bulbank extends a loan of BGN 2.4 million to Veliko Turnovo Municipality following the procedure conducted pursuant to the Public Procurement Act. The loan is extended for a period up to June 2014 and will be used for financing expenses made under projects which have already been approved – “Improving and developing of the infrastructure for drinking water and waste water in the municipality of Veliko Turnovo” under Operational Programme “Environment” 2007-2013 and “Reconstruction and renovation of the healthcare infrastructure of the Comprehensive Oncological Center – Veliko Turnovo” under Operational Programme “Regional Development” 2007-2013.

In total 5 banks made tender offer to participate in the procedure. By decision of the mayor of Veliko Turnovo Municipality of 12 June 2013 UniCredit Bulbank was ranked first and was awarded the contract in the public tender procedure. The loan agreement was signed on 11 July 2013.

“The loan to Veliko Turnovo Municipality is yet another loan extended to Veliko Turnovo by the bank over the last year through the Flag Fund for financing projects which are of key importance to local communities. We find it very important to give our contribution to the investments in projects supporting infrastructure development,” commented Michele Amadei, Head of Corporate, Investment and Private Banking at UniCredit Bulbank.
