The equity fund that generated the highest return last year is European Potential with a yield of 21.23%

The net asset value of Pioneer Investments rose by 20% last year reaching nearly 227 million Bulgarian lev. In this way UniCredit Bulbank and Pioneer Investments keep their leading position with 29% market share of the market of collective investment schemes, publicly offered in Bulgaria.

The yield of Pioneеr funds generated last year is one of the best in historical perspective. The positive return on investments in 2012 varied between 4.12% for conservative funds and 21.23% for equity funds. The sub-fund that generated a yield of 21.23% is European Potential. It invests in shares of small and medium European companies with growth potential.

“The growth of our assets in 2012 is a result from the growth in all financial markets as well as from more sales of savings plans and subscriptions by institutional investors”, commented Yavor Achev, manager of Pioneer Investments for Bulgaria.

The balanced Pioneеr fund portfolio on its part has achieved 16.4% yield in Euro. Prospective clients can invest in it by making direct investments, concluding a special life insurance, offered by UniCredit Bulbank, or subscribing to suitable savings plans.

The number of Pioneer savings plans in 2012 rose by 33% up to 5 682, and their total number reached almost 11 000. The average monthly amount of the contribution is 25 Euro.

“For 2013, in the equity classes we expect the European equities to perform best, as well as the markets of the developed countries such as BRIC, Vietnam and Indonesia”, commented Yavor Achev. He also said that there are expectations for a growing interest of investors towards the product Pioneer savings plan and the purchase of balanced baskets/portfolios of funds.

Last year Pioneer Investments launched the first mobile app for investors in Bulgaria, which can be downloaded for free from Apple Store and Android Store. This app provides access to the prices of mutual funds shares, information for the generated yield for different time periods, as well as results charts.

The Pioneer app for mobile phones started in Austria and six countries from Central and Eastern Europe - Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Poland. In each country the app is adapted to the local language.

The apps are available on the Internet page of Pioneer Investments for Bulgaria (www.pioneerinvestments.bg), from where the investors can download them so that they can always keep the funds “on hand”.
