Fitch Rating Agency affirmed the rating of UniCredit

The international rating agency Fitch affirmed the long-term rating of UniCredit at 'A-' and the short-term one at 'F2'. The rating affirmation is given although Italy’s rating was downgraded by two notches to 'A-' with negative outlook on 27 January 2012.

The affirmation of the rating of UniCredit comes after the successfully completed capital increase of the UniCredit Group at the end of January. It was conducted in the period 9 – 27 January as 3, 850, 399, 510 shares were subscribed. This represents 99.8% of all offered shares amounting to EUR 7.5 billion.

The new shareholding structure of UniCredit is expected to become clear in just a few days, once the Italian regulators perform all the necessary checks required by law.

At the end of last year the long-term and the short-term credit rating of UniCredit Bulbank was also affirmed at BBB/A-3 by the international rating agency Standard and Poor’s. This is the highest credit rating assigned to a Bulgarian bank and it is equal to the rating of Bulgaria. The outlook was determined as stable.
