In the light of Bulgaria’s forthcoming accession to the Eurozone, as of January 1st 2026, changes to the recurring payments subscriptions will be implemented.
What will take place?
On December 30th 2025, all active recurring payments subscriptions denominated in Bulgarian lev (BGN) will be terminated. Consequently, the Bank will automatically establish new subscriptions in the new national payment currency, the euro (EUR), which will become effective after January 1st 2026.
Please note that, as of 1 January 1st 2026, the initiation of recurring payments subscriptions at the Bank’s branches will be terminated. New subscriptions may be created exclusively through the Bulbank Online service.
Important:
All newly created subscriptions will replicate the structure of your existing ones. The only modification will concern the payment amount, which will be recalculated at the official fixed exchange rate established by the Bulgarian National Bank (1.95583 BGN = 1 EUR).
Please ensure that the newly generated subscriptions contain accurate information to allow for the successful execution of payments. Should any adjustments to the payment instructions be required, they may be done via Bulbank Online or by visiting a Bank convenient branch
