Dear customers,
In regard to the forthcoming EUR conversion, we’d like to inform you that starting from 01.01.2026 all transactions on POS devices, serviced by UniCredit Bulbank, will be executed in EUR.
Important aspects:
- The currency change of all POS devices from BGN to EUR will be executed automatically with no need of any additional actions on your behalf.
- From 01.01.2026 all transactions’ requests in BGN will be refused.
- It’s necessary merchants to provide:
For rPOS devices:
- To be switched on for successful devices’ update. The devices will print a short notice, or a sound will be played on after the conversion in order to be verified that they work in EUR.
- In cases of POS-cash desk connectivity, merchants’ vendors should change the currency from BGN to EUR in the protocol that they send to the POS device.
For vPOS devices, all the requests must be sent in EUR (the value should be in EUR in the field CURRENCY).
Please, have in mind that possible disruptions in the operation of POS devices are expected during the period from 21:00 of 31.12.2025 to 01:00 of 01.01.2026.
