Payments via Internet during New Year increased by 50% up to TBGN 710.8, however, the average value of transactions fell to BGN 78 compared to BGN 86 in the end of 2010.
The value of transactions during Christmas and New Year increased by nearly BGN 5 million amounting to slightly more than BGN 41 million compared to the holiday season in 2010. This is indicated by UniCredit Bulbank data on cash withdrawal at ATM machines, payments via POS terminals and payments in Internet in the days around Christmas and New Year.
Bulgarians spent the most in the days around Christmas – BGN 24.2 million while around New Year transactions were worth BGN 16.7 million. Compared to the corresponding days in 2010 around 25 December holiday spending rose by 15% and around 31 December by 10%.
The average value of a single transaction at UniCredit Bulbank ATM machines during Christmas amounted to BGN 170. At POS terminals goods worth BGN 79 on average were paid.
Payments via Internet on New Year rose by 50% reaching TBGN 710.8 compared to 31 December 2010. However, the average amount of payments via Internet fell to BGN 78 compared to BGN 86 in the end of 2010.
In the days 31 December and 1 and 2 January of the New Year there were 7 cases of money forgotten at UniCredit Bulbank ATM machines. ATM machines which had technical problems during the holidays were only 4%. Thanks to the good organization no ATM machines were left without cash funds.
Last year on the territory of the country the number of UniCredit Bulbank ATM machines increased by 23% and now there are 605.
