Government Institutions will be able to request the installation of POS as early as Monday (23 April).
People will now be able to make payments to government institutions at UniCredit Bulbank POS terminals free of charge. This will be possible thanks to the Framework Agreement, which was signed with the Ministry of finances for payments and collection of receivables through card payments.
From Monday (23 April 2012) government institutions, state-owned universities, municipal institutions and others will be able to submit requests to UniCredit Bulbank for the installation of POS terminals. The service includes offering and installation of POS terminals of budget funded enterprises and processing of payments by the Bank of due own revenue (tax or non-tax).
The card holders will relieved of all fees and commissions for the payments at POS terminals of government institutions. There will only be an exception for the owners of Maestro debit cards, and UniCredit Bulbank is currently preparing its system, so that they will be relieved of all payment fees in the near future as well. Furthermore, the institutions themselves will also be relieved of the commission for UniCredit Bulbank for any accepted payments at POS. The cards which will be able to make this type of payments will be Maestro, BORIKA, Visa, Visa Electron, V Pay and MasterCard.
The price conditions of the service were set in the Framework agreement with the ministry of Finances, and the settlement with the bank will be done on a monthly basis. The Financial authority will pay BGN 0.55 without VAT per transaction and BGN 25 without VAT a month for the use of a POS terminal unit.
