UniCredit Bulbank’s customers banking on the internet increase with 65% per year

Over 10 mio transaction contacts per year were reported through the ATMs of UniCredit Bulbank

The customers of UniCredit Bulbank banking through the internet increase with 65% per year, according to data from a survey requested by the Bank. This is the result of UniCredit Bulbank’s efforts in the last two years to develop the alternative channels for banking.

The bank simplified the internet banking registration processes and began to offer the service free-of-charge to individuals. In addition, new functionalities were created including on-line loan applications; loan and card applications; payment of accounts; additional information services and internet notifications and depositing cash at ATMs.

“The tendency is for the transactions ordered at a teller’s desk to decrease compared to those performed via the channels“, said Tsvetanka Mincheva, Deputy Head of Retail Banking in UniCredit Bulbank and Head of Alternative Channels. Around 75% of the cash transfers in Bulgaria are done at tellers’ desks while in Central and Eastern Europe their share is 42%.

Regarding online banking, only 4% of the clients of the banks in Bulgaria use this service. At the same time in CEE their share is 42%.

Around 10 mio. translation contracts per year were reported through the ATMs of UniCredit Bulbank, according to data from the survey. “We will add new functionalities to our ATMs – at the ATMs our clients will be able to pay installments for loans, bills, etc.“, Ms. Mintcheva added.
