On the 29th of February UniCredit Studio hosts the exhibition “It Could Be Them” by Andrey Hambarski, winner of the special prize of Stoyan Kambarev Foundation and UniCredit Bulbank for 2015.
Andrey Hambarski received the prize after being nominated for his unique for Bulgaria sculpture technique through which he recreates with wire the portraits of Bulgarian and world famous artists.
"I have worked with various materials but works of wire are a new way of expression. Thanks to wire the graphics become three-dimensional. When you outline a form with wire, it is never complete. I want to give freedom to the viewers and their imagination – to enable them to play with the image and to complete it in a way meaningful to the viewers themselves,” Andrey comments.
The idea of the wire reproductions is to reveal new aspects of something well known. To provoke the viewer to rediscover famous works of art, to paint and finish them on their own.
