UniCredit Bulbank is main partner of the first in its kind in Bulgaria Conference on innovations in Bulgarian agriculture in the context of the new Common Agricultural Policy of the EU for the 2014-2020 programme period. Levon Hampartzoumian, CEO of UniCredit Bulbank, will open the conference.

Special guest to the event is Pacôme Eyenga, Team Leader of EIP-AGRI Service Point with the European Commission.

Experts from the Netherlands, Norway, Italy, Germany, Spain and Austria, specially invited to the conference, will share their experience through specific examples regarding the forming of Operational Innovation Groups within the framework of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) for agricultural productivity and sustainability.

Norway’s experience with innovations in the field of green economy will be presented through the project “Energy Efficiency and Better Milk Quality For Bulgarian Farms” realized in Bulgaria with the financial support of Norwegian Financial Mechanism “Green Industry Innovation”.

The objective of the conference are:

• To provide more information on the term “innovation” in the context of the new Common Agricultural Policy of the EU within the 2014–2020 programme period;

• To present the prospects for implementation of innovations in the Bulgarian agriculture and the food industry with the help of EIP;

• To outline the opportunities for financing of the priority areas of cooperation through presentation of the good practices in the implementation of innovations in other EU member countries;

• To initiate public discussion on the preparation of the respective normative legislation;

• To stimulate the process of effective implementation of Measure 16 of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Programme.
