Term: 2-5 years (or longer)
Capital protection: Conditional on non-default
Coupon: depending on the underlying asset credit spread
Essential features
- Fixed or floating return depending on the credit risk of the underlying asset
- Option to choose a specific issuer or risk level
- Can be sold at any time, but there is no guarantee of the repurchase price
- Regular coupon payments – quarterly/every six months/annually
- Medium or long-term investment horizon
