Providing financial support for serious scholarly studies is one way we can contribute to that mission.
At this purpose, in March 2009, the Board of Directors of UniCredit established a private Foundation in memory of the Knight of Labor Ugo Foscolo former chairman of Banco di Roma. UniCredit & Universities Foundation enables young European economics and finance students to reach their true potential by financing their ongoing studies and research through several scholarships and awards.

To pursue the long-standing tradition of UniCredit, the foundation UniCredit & Universities Knight of Labor Ugo Foscolo Foundation announces the competition for three truly European scholarships, in memory of “Giovanna Crivelli”, aimed at training European researchers through courses of specialization abroad covering theoretical and empirical studies in the fields of economics, banking and finance.

UniCredit & Universities Knight of Labor Ugo Foscolo Foundation announces the competition for one European fellowship in economic and financial subjects, in memory of “Knight of Labor Ugo Foscolo” former chairman of Banco di Roma.
The competition is open to graduates of any university located in any of the 22
countries where the UniCredit Group operates who:
(1) completed or are about to complete a Ph.D. in economics or finance in a university outside the EU Group perimeter, (2) are currently performing their research and teaching activity in a university or institution outside the EU Group perimeter, and (3) wish to continue their research at any European university located within the EU Group perimeter.

UniCredit & Universities Foundation established the first edition of the UniCredit & Universities CEE Best PhD Thesis Award, for the best researchers from Central Eastern Europe. The UniCredit & Universities CEE Best PhD Thesis Award is aimed at all young PhD graduates from Eastern European countries belonging to the geographical scope of UniCredit Group.
Prizes will be awarded to 6 outstanding doctoral dissertations in economics, political economy, banking or finance, on European integration issues. Two prizes will be assigned to dissertations on migration, two will be assigned to dissertations on development and demography. The 6 best dissertations will receive 5,000 EUR each.
