Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Credit Line with the EBRD (1)
Investment projects by private companies for:
- Energy efficiency;
- Renewable energy sources.
- Energy efficiency – types of investments:
o On-site co-generation installations – generation of heat and electricity;
o Rehabilitation and replacement of old gas boilers with condensing boilers;
o Switch from electricity heating to fuel based direct heating;
o Process improvements including enhanced controls;
o Rehabilitation of steam distribution systems;
o Installation of heat recovery from processes;
o Installation of absorption chillers;
o Installation of new chillers
o Installation of Variable Speed Drives on selected electric motors;
o Rehabilitation of compressed air systems;
o Rehabilitation of power distribution systems;
o Implementation of Energy Management Systems or Building Management Systems;
o Implementation of energy saving measures in the built environment.
- Renewable energy sources:
o Hydro power stations;
o Wind generators;
o Biomass;
o Thermal solar panels;
o Geothermal;
o Biogas.
- Requirement: minimum internal rate of return of the investment project – 10%;
- Currency: BGN or Euro;
- Maximum loan amount under this credit line: € 2,500,000;
- Grant aid – up to 15% of the loan amount disbursed, depending on the type of the project and the achieved energy savings.
